Educational Institutions

Fr. Emmanuel Edeh is a recognized icon and pillar of education.  With strong determination to uplift the dwindling dignity of man through wholesome education he has founded 15 educational institutions (primary, secondary and tertiary), which includes the following institutions of higher education:

  • Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) Enugu : established in 1989, these institutions were established primarily but not exclusively for the handicapped. The Polytechnic as well as the College of Education promote proper Education, Peace Centre and also serve as rehabilitation schools for physically disabled. They were both approved to run as a full-fledged Polytechnic and a full-fledged College of Education by the Nigerian Government.
  • Madonna University : was the first private university in Nigeria, it runs multiple campuses with three campuses in Okija, Akpugo and Elele. The university was set up to rescue the fallen standard of education in Nigeria. Madonna University came to the scene with clear sense of purpose and commitment to the founding spirit. One thing is to initiate or begin a project, another thing is to nurture it to maturity. The university began with the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Education. In March 2009 Madonna University was recognized and approved by the International Federation of Catholic Universities (with its headquarters in Paris) as a full-fledged Catholic University in Category A.
  • Caritas University : founded in 2004, the University operates four faculties namely: Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Management & Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. The vision of Caritas University is prevent youths from joining vicious groups and to rescue some of our drifting and teaming youths from further slide into academic and moral decay, and the development and transformation of our society through sound and unadulterated education. Its mission is to discover, sanctify and apply the knowledge of science, environmental and engineering for human well-being and sound development of man for better society.

Thousands of students are currently enrolled in these educational institutions, with over 18,000 and 4,000 girls enrolled in the tertiary & non-tertiary institutions respectively.
